Well, it certainly is interesting to be able to type whatever I wish about myself here. It rather appeals to the egocentric artist in me. Since I'm admitting to that first off I shall immediately call your attention to the fact that the lovely flew fish to the left of this text are my very own creation. Though I'm currently basically a house wife I love creating whimisical people and animals and occasionally scenery in the style of the flew fish, as well as more "serious" fine art.

I am currently living in Cancun, Mexico with my wonderful husband Sebastian Herrera. However, I was born and raised in the lovely mountains of North Carolina, in a splendid little town called Boone. If you've never been there you should definantly visit. And yes you can come see me in Cancun, but our apartment only has one bedroom so don't expect luxurious accomdations.

Back to the flew fish, they are minor characters in the in progress children's book "When All the Children Know" by David L. Tate that I am currently working on the illustrations for. More info on the book and a sneak peek at another illustration from it.

While drawing, painting, and otherwise following creative paths I almost constantly listen to the radio. (the following is old news but I'll leave it since I still love NPR, even if I'm in Mexico and can't much understand the radio hear yet. They talk so very rapido.) My cds do not get much play because I have become addicted to NPR (National Public Radio.) Go ahead, think I'm a little bit of a nerd for that, I don't care. NPR is my almost constant companian, so a page about who I am would not be complete without a plug for the best radio show ever. This American Life. I do not go out on Saturday nights until after I've heard the show and I've been known to tape episodes and listen to them multiple times. I do not have cable, never watch tv, and always laugh at my friends who couldn't miss their favorite tv shows, but hey, listening to This American Life could very well be the most enjoyable and thought provoking hour of your week. As if I haven't said enough about it, check it out!
